OVERVIEW ON LITTLE VUMBURA CAMP IN OKAVANGO DELTA
Little Vumbura Camp is situated on a wooded island in the same region as its sister camp, Vumbura Plains. Designed to blend in with its surroundings, Little Vumbura is a beautiful six-roomed tented camp shaded by the canopy of an ancient Okavango forest. Each tent is en-suite, large and roomy with an open-air shower and views of the surroundings. A plunge pool and reading area overlook the floodplains and a star deck leads off the dining area. Surrounded as it is by water and lying close to large rivers, water-based activities are a focus with mokoros traversing the floodplains under the guidance of experienced polers, and motor boats the permanent channels. Wildlife viewing and birding is consistently good all year round. Game drives in open Land Rovers explore the savannah areas. Walks (on request) around the islands are an opportunity to enjoy Africa from a different perspective.

Location Of Little Vumbura Camp
The 90 000-hectare Kwedi Concession in the northern Okavango Delta comprises Duba Plains and Vumbura areas. The north eastern region of Vumbura consists of diverse habitat types: permanent swamp, seasonal floodplains, acacia woodlands, and mopane / Kalahari appleleaf stands. The concession is leased from five communities through the Okavango Community Trust in a groundbreaking partnership, ensuring that the benefits of ecotourism are shared with rural stakeholders. Vumbura features a wider range of large mammals including a broad complement of antelope, good populations of elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe, and large predators: lion, spotted hyaena, leopard, wild dog and cheetah. Bird life is abundant with Okavango specials such as Rosy-throated Longclaw, Black Coucal and Wattled Crane found. The woodlands in the east harbor White-breasted Cuckooshrike and Racket-tailed Roller.
Safari Experience At Little Vumbura Camp
Game viewing in the concession is well balanced for all the different types of activities. Predator sightings of Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are good and Wild Dogs are frequently seen. The plains game numbers are excellent year round – Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Sable and Impala. Birding is good all year.
