Little Mombo is an extension of and shares the same island as the larger Mombo Camp, matching its high standards. It offers the same abundant big game viewing – some of the best in Botswana – and overlooks a floodplain that is a beautiful setting for a variety of wildlife. The camp, built under a shady canopy, has luxurious and spacious guest rooms under canvas, each with en-suite facilities, outdoor shower and individual sala. Little Mombo has only three rooms, but larger groups can also book out some of the rooms in the main camp. Little Mombo also has its own dining room, kitchen, lounge and plunge pool. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4×4 vehicles to view the high concentrations of plains game and their predators, which include all the big cats.

Location Of Little Mombo Camp
The Mombo Concession comprises 45 000 hectares of the Moremi game reserve and is located on Chief’s island in the central Okavango Delta. in the interior of Chief’s island, mopane woodland is interspersed with belts of Kalahari sand and acacia. towards the edges of the island regular seasonal flooding creates shallow floodplains dotted with wild date palm islands and riverine forest. Mombo offers arguably the best big game viewing in Botswana with prolific concentrations of general game such as giraffe, zebra, warthog, red lechwe, tsessebe, wildebeest, kudu, elephant, buffalo and impala. Abundant predator sightings include lion, spotted hyena and leopard. Chief’s island is also home to the only white and black rhino found in the Okavango Delta. the birding, a result of diverse habitats, is equally attractive.
Safari Experience At Little Mombo Camp
Renowned as one of the best game areas in Africa. A predator haven with frequent excellent sightings of Lion and Leopard. Wild Dog can be seen and inter-predator interaction is a feature. Plains game is prolific – Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Giraffe and all the Delta Antelopes are present in numbers. Year round birding is superb.

Activities At Little Mombo Camp
- Type – 100% Game Drives, 0% Water Activities (although guests do see water sources)
- Game drives via 1 x 10 seater open Land Rover for six guests, allowing all guests an outside seat.
- Reference books available in each guest tent for use on drives. Binoculars and Peaceful Sleep insect repellent are available in a center console on each row of seats – the middle consoles can be swapped for seats, i.e. if a row of 3 seats are needed rather than a row of 2 seats plus a consol.
- The camp does have a supply of bean bags for guests to use to steady their camera while on a game activity.
- Game drives on Chief’s Island and surrounding area

- Private vehicle on request (maximum five vehicles in the concession with three primarily being used at Mombo main camp, one at Little Mombo and one available for private vehicle booking).
